Miranda grew up on the Isle of Wight and her love of drawing and painting was encouraged from an early age by her mother, a commercial artist and calligrapher, and her father, an enthusiastic amateur marine architect. Colour, composition and texture are all important to her and she takes inspiration from very varied sources, but nature and the seashore are recurring ones. Miranda is a member of Oxshott and Molesey Art Societies and paints and exhibits with MiMA, a mixed media artists’ group in Reigate
