Annual event at the cornerHOUSE

Gird your loins, the cornerHOUSE’s annual panto is almost upon us.
Following 2019’s Wind-up the Willows we will be serving up Jack the Aladdin and the Faulty Thieves in January.

Jack the Aladdin and the Faulty Thieves comes to the cornerHOUSE arts centre in Douglas Road, Surbiton, from Tuesday, January 28 to Saturday, February 1.
Evening shows start at 7.45pm. There is also a Saturday matinee at 4pm.
The local community pantomime, now in its 32nd year, will be taking on two famous tales associated with the Arabian Nights, but in its own inimitable way.
Expect cringing puns galore, irreverence, dubious morality and straightforward family fun as a poor lad happens upon a magic lamp, complete with outrageous genie, and uses it to fight off the evil machinations of scheming politicians!
Tickets are £10 (£8 concs). Visit

The Lockdown Beauty - Matinee

The Lockdown Beauty – Matinee

The cornerHOUSE panto is back in January 2022! After being forced to take a year off because of Covid restrictions, panto returns to the cornerHOUSE with The Lockdown Beauty a familiar fairy tale with a pandemic twist.

The show, written by Phil Cooper, is new, with original songs, a new set, some familiar faces in the cast (and, no doubt, some familiar jokes!).

Covid means that there will be some changes to the ‘norm’. Audience sizes will be restricted to allow for social distancing and no children will be in the show this time. However, the panto remains as family-friendly as ever and we look forward to welcoming you to this long-standing, new-year tradition.

The Lockdown Beauty runs from Tuesday, January 25 to Saturday, January 29 at 7.45pm. There is also a matinee on the Saturday at 4pm.
