WHAT'S ON

Theatre Director and Educator Clea Williams is delighted to have been invited back to the cornerHOUSE to run a short course sharing her approach to theatre direction – Introduction to Theatre Direction. No previous experience is necessary, but a love of theatre will help.

The course will run over three weeks on Monday 20th March, Monday 27th March and Monday 3rd April. 7.30 – 9.30pm.  Attendance is required for all three sessions.
£45.00 for the course. Refreshments provided.

Week 1 will address key questions:What does it mean to direct a play? What is the role of the director?How and when do you start?What is the best form to tell the story?
Week 2 will take a more practical approach to text analysis, communicating with actors, collaboration, preparation, organisation, inspiration, facilitation, finding your voice and letting go.
Week 3 will give the participants the opportunity to have a go at directing.

Please note that there will be an expectation of some individual self reflection and preparation from week to week in order to get the most from the course.
