Come and take a print of Loraine Monk’s lino relief print Never Stop Protesting.
This was cut and first printed by Loraine in 2019, measures 1.7m x 1m contains thirteen images of historic British protest movements and was originally hand printed using etching ink on Hosho Japanese paper. It is hanging as part of her print show at the cornerHOUSE
The session will start by collectively taking one large print and then participants can choose one of the thirteen images to work on to take home. We will be using the same techniques that Japanese woodcut printers have employed for centuries, applying inks, and then using hand rubbing techniques to place the image on handmade Japanese paper made from Kozo bark.
Participants are strongly advised to wear old clothes and/or any unwanted aprons/shirts. All ink, gloves and paper will be provided.
Tea and coffee will be available and there will be an opportunity to look around Loraine’s show.
