‘From growing up able-bodied my life was changed in 2012 when I suffered a brain injury. Now I am working at the BBC, have set up my own campaign, co-chair a community interest project and I am an ambassador for various groups and organisations. This is all to improve the awareness of disability sport and improve the media coverage so that other disabled people can have the access to the wonderful world of sport!
During the evening, I will be talking about coming to terms with my disability, my involvement in a range of projects to support disabled people and the achievements along the way. I also want to share my own journey within disability sport along with the highs and lows in my career.
If you have a disability or not then I hope this talk will provide you with motivation and occasional laughter’.
