About
We all know the story of 1066 and the battle of Hastings as told in the Bayeux Tapestry but hidden within the artwork are a series of lesser known characters, strange astronomical events and old fables. In this talk I explore who these people were and the possibly subversive messages hidden within the Tapestry as well its other secrets and perhaps answering the ultimate question, did King Harold Godwinson really die from an arrow in the eye?
The talk is presented by the Surbiton and District Historical Society. The speaker is Matthew Bowman.
