About
A proud Yorkshirewoman, now rehabilitated as a soft Surbiton Southerner, author Sharon Wright grew up in Brontë country, and is now one of the UK’s foremost experts on everything Brontë. She even corrected the 85-year-old spelling mistake on the engraved memorial to Charlotte, Emily and Anne Brontë in Poets’ Corner, Westminster Abbey, making national news when she got the diaresis (dots) added to their name. Without the diaresis (which all three sisters used when signing their name) it read as ‘Bront’.
The dot detective story features in LET ME IN: The Brontës in Bricks and Mortar, which Sharon co-wrote with Ann Dinsdale, its title echoing the words of Cathy’s ghost in Wuthering Heights – ‘Let me in!’
How do you research and write a bestseller?
Sharon has also written the definitive book on female ballooning pioneers and the biography of the Brontës’ mum.
She’ll share all her secrets.
Sharon will be in conversation with Tim Harrison, the editor of The Good Life
