Genealogy, a behind the scenes tour by Matthew Bowman

Genealogy is such a huge pastime for so many people who try and trace their routes as far back as they can. This talk is a behind the scenes look at how researchers get from A to B and the vast array of historical documents to use, to not just collect the names of ancestors but to try and bring them to life. Along the way we will take a look at some famous faces as they appear in the historical records as well as looking at one family's journey from 1966 Hounslow to 1066 Hastings.

The talk is presented by the Surbiton and District Historical Society. The speaker is Matthew Bowman.
