About
Celebrate Poems on the Underground!
We've all seen them but how did they get there? A delight of being in London is that on every Tube journey there is a chance encounter with poetry. Poetry of all styles and vintages, they just have to fit within the space that normally takes an advert.
When did this wonderful free culture get stated? Who started it? Who picks the poems now? How do they choose? Could they choose yours?
These and many more questions will be answered at this evening with Sara Chernaik, Poems on the Underground Manager and daughter of the founder, Judith Chernaik.
Copies of the books of Poems on the Underground and other merchandise will be available to buy on the evening.
