Phil is equally at home as part of a band (in Show of Hands with Steve Knightley and Miranda Sykes) or wowing a crowd on his own, with his guitar and fiddle. He has an imposing stage aura, and Phil charms with anecdotes and songs from the traditional to the contemporary. He is known to others as “a towering presence in the British music scene”. Always modest and self-deprecating, his own assessment is “Phil Beer. Plays guitar and fiddle, sings a bit.” A must-see!

Folk@thecornerHOUSE is a monthly series of concerts showcasing the best in folk music. The aim is to present a wide variety of performers in the wonderful intimate setting of The Corner House. Each evening will have a main guest with a supporting act to start. There are too few venues in Surrey providing outlets for the dazzling wealth of talent available on the folk scene and this venture will hopefully go a long way towards filling that void.
