Dora Bryan’s showbiz career spanned eight decades! From pantomime to Shakespeare, from the first Carry On film to a BAFTA winning role in A Taste of Honey and a personal triumph as star of the original West End production of Hello Dolly! she did it all! TV sitcoms included dinnerladies, Absolutely Fabulous and fifty episodes of Last of The Summer Wine. She made millions laugh but her personal life was a rollercoaster. Rosemary Ashe’s many West End appearances include Carlotta, the Prima Donna in the original cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of The Opera, Madame Thenardier in Les Miserables, Cunegonde in Candide, Widow Corney in Oliver!, Hortense in The Boyfriend, Forbidden Broadway,Felicia Gabriel in The Witches of Eastwick (for which she was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Supporting Performance in a Musical) and Miss Andrew in Mary Poppins. Her previous one-person show was about Ethel Merman: Call Me Merman toured with great success. Rosemary recently completed a run as star of the premiere production of Great British Bake Off: The Musical at the Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham.
