A brand new radio play is being recorded at the cornerHOUSE in December and you could be part of the audience.
Having, written and directed by Surbiton’s Tim Burton, will be recorded live before the audience at the arts centre in Douglas Road, Tolworth, on December 11 and 12.
Burton, of Talk About Productions which has previously produced the plays IT Support and Time Bomb at the cornerHOUSE, said: “Since BBC radio drama is always recorded in a studio and/or on location, this production affords the very rare opportunity to experience the recording of an audio drama before a live theatre audience.
“I am thrilled to be involved in bringing a thought-provoking and uplifting new play to cH audiences in this novel way.”
Burton is planning to submit Having to the BBC and independent producers after it is recorded.
Told in flashbacks, the audio drama follows late baby boomer Nicky’s quest for material wealth – and its repercussions - during the 30 years after Margaret Thatcher’s election as prime minister.
The play focuses on the current economic crisis, the collapse of financial institutions and the dramatic end to the country’s infatuation with wealth after the implosion of the Thatcherite project.
