YADAPA

Thu 19 Nov 2009

Young artists will be exhibiting their work at an exhibition at the cornerHOUSE in November. YADAPA (Young and Disabled and Positively Artistic) will be showing a range of mixed media in the form of photography, art and sculpture at the exhibition at the arts centre in Douglas Road, Tolworth. The artwork, plus greetings cards and bags, will be for sale at the group’s gala night on Thursday, November 19. Prices range from £2 to £40. Fran O’Brien, the group’s leader, said: “The YADAPA exhibition celebrates a fantastic mixture of artwork created by young disabled people aged between 11 and 19. “They will be exhibiting their work created at YADAPA’s workshops during the summer. These include pottery, drama masks, ceramics, canvases, beadwork and much more. “Expression through art brings us all together,” she added. The exhibition runs from Tuesday, November 3 to Friday, November 27. The gala night, on Thursday, November 19, starts at 6.30pm and runs until 9pm. Members of the group will be there to talk about their exhibits.
