Outside the Box Comedy Club

Cult comedy club Outside the Box goes walkabout bringing stand-up comedy to the cornerHOUSE in August.

The comedy club, based at the Fighting Cocks in Kingston, is giving audiences at the arts centre in Douglas Road, Tolworth, a chance to see some top names on the comedy circuit thanks to a monthly slot at cH.

Resident host Maff Brown, said: “Outside the Box has been growing for nearly four years. Some big, big names in comedy have come to test their material out and get ready for national tours. In the past year, we have had Frank Skinner, Bill Bailey, Alan Carr, Jimmy Carr, Russell Howard and Robin Williams, to name but a few.”

Maff, a writer and comedian who has written for TV’s comedy quiz show Shooting Stars and for comedian Omid Djalili, is hoping the show will be a hit with cH audiences.

“Outside the Box Comedy Club specialises in making the nights seem like a ‘one off’ and a ‘you should have been there’ experience,” he said. “We plan to bring that culty vibe with the highest calibre of comedy talent working today - with a blend of TV names, established circuit comedians and the brightest comedic stars of the future - to the most fantastic space for comedy that is the cornerHOUSE on a monthly basis.

“Every night will leave you waiting in anticipation for the next one,” he added.

Outside the Box Comedy Club then switches to Thursday nights at the cornerHOUSE.

Future dates are September 3, October 1, November 5, December 3. Same time, same ticket prices, same box office details. Line-ups to be announced.
