Windows on the World Gala Night

Thu 9 Jul 2009

A room with a view
The winner of last year’s cornerHOUSE canvas competition, Janine Goddard, is to showcase more of her work at the arts centre in July.
Janine is staging her show, Windows on the World, at the arts centre in Douglas Road, Tolworth, from Monday, July 6 untll Saturday, August 1.
There will be a gala evening on Thursday, July 9, from 7.30pm, where members of the public can see her work and have their questions answered by the artist. All are welcome.
Janine’s work focuses on landscapes.
“They are mostly of woodlands, bluebells, stormy seas, sunrises, sunsets and rivers,” said Janine who attracted most votes last year for the centre's annual arts competition with her oil painting of a house at Ambleside in the Lake District.“Painting is in my blood - my father and grandfather were artists and I seem to have inherited their love of landscape and nature.

“I am a florist so I also love painting masses of flowers too," she added.
Art-lovers will have a chance to acquire one of her paintings as they will be on sale at the show. Prices range from £50 to £300 for the oil on canvas exhibits.
The public can see the exhibition at the gala event and during evenings when there are performances at the arts centre. For more information about what’s on at the cornerHOUSE see the Coming Soon page.
