Royad's Music Hall Show

Fri 24 - Sat 25 Apr 2009

Royad rolls out the barrel

Audiences at the cornerHOUSE will have a barrel of fun when Royad’s Goldenkey Theatre Company rolls out an evening of music hall entertainment.

The group, made up of adults with mild learning difficulties, will be rattling out the songs in a cockney knees-up at the arts centre in Douglas Road, Tolworth.

Royad’s Music Hall Show follows two other major productions by the group at the cornerHOUSE – Westside Story and cornerHOUSE of Horrors – which played to packed audiences.

Julia Manning, director of the latest show, said: “This is an old time music hall show with all the cockney classics performed by a group of adults with learning disabilities.

“They have to overcome many issues such as memory retention, speech problems, and coordination skills in order to perform, but their love of music and drama, and enthusiasm to perform, makes the show even more of an achievement.

“Come and hear their amazing voices and expect to have your preconceptions blown aways, as the group delivers an energetic and well polished musical spectacular.”
